Many people don’t fail at making breakouts—they specialize in chasing fake breakouts. Price Action Theory Most low-gradient channel breakouts through support and resistance are filled with fake breakouts and reversals within the channel. The ones with higher quality are often staircase/flag patterns or triangle consolidations and compressions. That’s because they’ve already completed their ‘momentum buildup’ before breaking out: repeated testing → weakening of opposing forces → final breakout. On the other hand, low-gradient channels often show less disparity between bullish and bearish forces, gradually wearing down one side. So when you see a breakout, don’t rush to chase it. Ask yourself first: Is this building momentum, or just grinding? This distinction might be more important than the ‘breakout’ itself. #FakeBreakout #Trading #PriceAction #Breakout #TechnicalAnalysis #SupportResistance #Trading
