Robinhood Chain is blowing up, and Arbitrum is cashing in. In just two months since launch, Robinhood Chain has generated over $37 million in cumulative transaction fees. With a 10% revenue share model, the 'rent' it’s bringing to Arbitrum is already close to the total annual transaction fee revenue of Arbitrum’s own network. On the flip side, Robinhood Chain’s average Gas fee once surged to around $0.4, sparking a heated debate between Solana and Arbitrum’s co-founders. The argument is actually pretty straightforward: Should public chains aim to be as cheap as possible, leaving the profits to the apps? Or should apps act as 'landlords' themselves, collecting rent directly through on-chain fees?
