Liquid white-hat hacker communicates with Blockstream on-chain, promises to return most of the BTC after fixing the vulnerability According to on-chain analyst Alex Thorn, the "white-hat hacker" who previously transferred approximately 4,000 BTC from the Liquid Network has engaged in multiple rounds of communication with Blockstream via OP_RETURN messages and PGP-encrypted messages. On-chain records show that Blockstream first sent 1,000 satoshis from an address in block 965822 with the note: 'Please contact the Blockstream security team'; Later, in block 965865, the hacker responded with an encrypted message verified by a PGP signature, which matched the key published on Blockstream's official website. In block 965869, the hacker self-transferred funds and sent 1,000 satoshis to the federation wallet, adding the note: 'Can most of the funds be returned to the federation address?'; In block 965875, the hacker self-transferred again and included a more detailed technical explanation, stating: 'Please fix the vulnerability first. The current chain still has risks under the latest commit. Ensure every node completes the patch. Once confirmed fixed, we will safely return the funds.' This message was encrypted using Blockstream's public key and is readable only by them.
