🚨HUGE: The G7 just warned that quantum computers could one day break the encryption behind Bitcoin. Its Cybersecurity Working Group is urging governments and companies to adopt "post-quantum" cryptography before such machines arrive. The risk is real for Bitcoin, where roughly 6.9 MILLION BTC sit in addresses that already expose their public keys. That includes an estimated 1.1 MILLION coins believed to be Satoshi's, worth over $80 BILLION. Bitcoin's defense, a quantum-safe address type called BIP-360, is already live on a test network. A more radical proposal would freeze the vulnerable coins that never migrate, including Satoshi's, but the community rejected it as "authoritarian."(Coin Bureau)
