[Ignas Criticizes Ethereum's L2 Strategy: Robinhood Earns $6 Million Daily, While Ethereum Struggles to Get a Share] Odaily Planet Daily News: DeFi researcher Ignas posted on the X platform criticizing Ethereum's L2 strategy. He pointed out that Robinhood previously earned a record-breaking daily fee revenue of over $6 million, while Robinhood L2 only paid about $722 in on-chain fees. However, approximately 10% of the high fee revenue flows to Arbitrum, and the income ultimately allocated to Ethereum L1 is 'pitifully small.' Ignas believes that if Ethereum developers could establish a clear strategy—first attracting more L2s and then monetizing once their switching costs become sufficiently high—this could potentially become a long-term business model beneficial to L1. However, such a clear strategy is not yet visible in Ethereum's roadmap. Ignas added that, similar to how Uber initially subsidized growth, Ethereum could also attract traditional financial businesses into its ecosystem through L2s and gradually increase 'rent' once the ecosystem develops higher switching costs.
