Every time I go out, it's a mix of pain and joy. I actually mentioned this in today's interview—I'm someone who loves staying at home, but when I do go out, I have a great time. Sometimes life is just full of contradictions, kind of like the current situation between the U.S. and Iran. The issues the U.S. is facing aren't all that different from Iran's. Inflation is on the rise in the U.S., while inflation in Iran has already skyrocketed. Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S. has blocked Iranian ports. Iran bombed U.S. military bases in the Middle East, and the U.S. retaliated by bombing Iranian oil tankers. Right now, it's a tit-for-tat situation that looks like mutual destruction. Both the U.S. and the global economy are dealing with soaring oil prices and inflation. Meanwhile, Iran, despite being a theocracy, is also struggling with domestic inflation and growing dissatisfaction. Even Iran's oil prices have surged dramatically. I have no idea how this will ultimately play out, but I think there's a high chance they'll eventually sit down and talk. What both sides are missing right now is a way to save face. From what I see, Iran seems determined to drag this out until the U.S. midterm elections to make things difficult for Trump, while Trump doesn't seem to have a better solution. There are two months left until the midterms, but only a month and a half until the Fed's October meeting. If oil prices stay at this level in September, inflation is likely to rise again. So, what will the Fed decide in October? Plus, the September meeting will include the dot plot. Even if some officials decide to hold off, if the dot plot suggests a rate hike in the last quarter, it would be a heavy blow to both the U.S. economy and the Republican Party.
