Ambassador Antony Anderson, CEO of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NARRA), visited the Spanish Town Hospital and St. Jago Health Centre in St. Catherine to assess the progress of the projects and meet with the teams carrying out the work. The Spanish Town Hospital is approximately 53% complete, with major construction already underway. During the visit, Ambassador Anderson met with the contractors, project supervisory engineers and other professionals involved in the project, including both local and international teams. Both projects have resilience considerations built into their design, with the hospital reflecting a strong focus on quality engineering and construction. This visit showed that Jamaica has the people and skills capable of delivering quality infrastructure. The focus now is on building the capacity to carry out more projects at the same time and getting these facilities completed so they can serve the people of St. Catherine and communities across Jamaica.(Andrew Holness)
