Microsoft Releases MAI-Image-2.6-Flash: Twice the Speed of the World's Best AI Model

According to IT Home, Microsoft has released its self-developed image generation model, MAI-Image-2.6-Flash, and made it available for public preview through Microsoft Foundry. This model shares core capabilities with the flagship MAI-Image-2.6, including text-to-image, image-to-image/image editing, object removal/replacement, localized repainting, and attribute modification, with a focus on optimizing generation speed and cost. In terms of pricing, text input costs $1.75 per million tokens, image input costs $2.50, and image output costs $19. Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft's Head of AI, stated that the model's generation speed is twice that of the current world's best model, GPT-Image-2-Medium, with GPU efficiency improved by 72%.
