[Polish Parliament Fails to Overturn Presidential Veto, Cryptocurrency Regulation Bill Blocked for the Third Time]
According to Polish Radio, the Polish Parliament failed to overturn President Karol Nawrocki's veto on the cryptocurrency market regulation bill. Among the 442 members present, 241 voted to overturn the veto, 198 opposed, and 3 abstained, falling 25 votes short of the required 266. This marks the third time Karol Nawrocki has vetoed the bill. The bill proposed that the Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) would oversee cryptocurrency market regulation. The president argued that the bill imposes excessive regulation, which could force Polish businesses to relocate abroad. Prime Minister Donald Tusk urged support for the bill before the vote, citing the investigation into the now-defunct Zondacrypto exchange.
