What separates useful AI work from ordinary mining? Traditional mining rewards miners for solving arbitrary hashing. Proof-of-Useful-Work (PoUW) attempts to replace those tasks with computation that has value outside the network. Ambient is building an L1 where miners also act as AI inference providers. Users submit jobs through an onchain auction where miners bid to process them. The winner returns the output and commits to the logits produced during inference. Selected validators verify that the claimed inference was performed correctly. The proposed model turns verified AI work into an accumulated measure of validated work called Logit Stake. Miners with higher LStake have greater influence in future leader selection. Customer requests originate through the network’s auction, making externally demanded inference distinguishable from network-generated work used to absorb excess capacity. Ambient could secure its blockchain with AI work that customers want completed.(Delphi Digital)
