[Holding 23,156 Bitcoins Worth Approximately $1.8 Billion, Strive Ranks Among the Top Five Public Companies in Bitcoin Holdings]
Odaily Planet Daily News reports, according to Bitcoin News monitoring, Strive purchased 1,800 Bitcoins between August 24 and August 28 at an average price of $79,431 per Bitcoin, with a transaction amount of approximately $143 million, including fees and related expenses. This purchase increased its Bitcoin holdings from 21,356 to 23,156, with a total value of approximately $1.8 billion, surpassing the digital asset exchange Bullish to become the fifth-largest public company in Bitcoin holdings, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA Holdings.
Strive accumulated nearly 3,000 Bitcoins within 15 days, including the purchase of 1,110 Bitcoins between August 17 and August 21 for approximately $81.5 million, and an earlier purchase of 79 Bitcoins in early August for approximately $5 million. Strive CEO Matt Cole confirmed the purchases in a post on X on August 31.
The funds for these purchases primarily came from stock sales rather than debt financing. During this period, the number of ASST common shares increased from approximately 79.9 million to 83.5 million, and the number of SATA preferred shares also rose. These two plans are expected to raise approximately $154.6 million, of which about $143 million was allocated for Bitcoin purchases. SATA currently offers an annualized dividend of 13%, with dividends paid on every business day.
Strive stated that it has cleared outstanding debts, currently has no margin requirements, and its Bitcoins are not pledged as collateral. The company purchased nearly 3,000 Bitcoins in August, with ASST stock prices rising more than 5% on Monday and nearly 100% for the month. However, raising funds through stock issuance to purchase Bitcoin may dilute the equity of existing shareholders, and a decline in Bitcoin prices could also pose risks.
