According to Reuters, data released by the UK Electoral Commission on Thursday shows that the populist political party Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, raised £5.3 million in political donations during Q2 (April to June). Of this, £4 million came from Ben Delo, co-founder of the crypto derivatives exchange BitMEX, accounting for a staggering 75% of the total contributions. Ben Delo had pleaded guilty in 2022 to charges under the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act (anti-money laundering violations) and was pardoned by Trump last year. Earlier this year, he announced plans to relocate from Hong Kong back to the UK and enter politics. Meanwhile, the party's previous largest donor from the crypto industry, Christopher Harborne (who had donated millions of pounds), did not disclose any new donations this quarter. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/news-67760
