Years have passed, and the LP experience on Uniswap is still far from satisfactory.
Around this time last year, I posted about how the process of adding liquidity/creating pools on Uniswap was extremely user-unfriendly and had a terrible experience.
Back then, even someone from the official UNI team commented, saying they would make improvements.
So, a year later, how’s it going?
No progress.
Let’s start with the liquidity-adding process:
1. No price indication
2. Blindly selecting upper and lower ranges (those four magic number options at the bottom)
3. Manually adjusting Min Price / Max Price is utterly confusing
4. No option to choose different liquidity distribution models (e.g., Curve, Spot, Bid-Ask)
In short, it’s very hard to use.
Now, let’s talk about creating pools.
This is even worse.
As someone who has been using Uniswap since V2, creating a V4 Pool now feels like a massive challenge.
Let alone a newbie trying to perform such an operation.
Maybe it’s because Uniswap primarily caters to traders, not LP users.
Or maybe they think providing liquidity is something best left to professionals, and regular users shouldn’t bother “donating exit liquidity” to the market for free.
On the other hand, look at Meteora—they’ve truly made LP earnings and user experience their top priorities, and they’ve done an excellent job.
Currently, I’ve noticed Delta Liquidity on Robinhood trying to replicate Meteora’s LP experience.
Although there’s still a significant gap (it’s pretty basic), it’s at least much better than Uniswap’s native LP experience.
Has Uniswap decided to fully commit to being infrastructure, serving as the foundational layer for other projects to build better products on top of it?
If not, please improve the LP experience. Thanks.
