Suspected GPT-6 Astra has been pre-deployed in the OpenAI API A user has reported that a model named 'gpt-6-astra' may have already been preloaded into the OpenAI API. Tests show that requests for this model in the OpenAI Responses API return a 404 Not Found error, whereas random non-existent model names typically return a 400 error. This has led some to speculate that the model might already exist but is currently under access restrictions or pending release. For comparison, the known model gpt-5.6-cyber also returns a 404. The whistleblower mentioned that similar anomalous responses in the Amazon Bedrock API previously revealed related models one day before the release of Fable 5.1. As of now, neither GPT-6 Astra nor its release date has been officially confirmed by OpenAI.
