**[World Open-Source Zero-Knowledge Proof Toolkit ProveKit]**
According to The Block, World (formerly known as Worldcoin) has announced the open-sourcing of its zero-knowledge proof toolkit, ProveKit. This toolkit was previously available for early access through World ID. ProveKit allows users to generate cryptographic proofs directly on their mobile devices or browsers without revealing personal data, with verifiers only receiving confirmation of specific claims.
World stated that the toolkit employs local proof generation instead of delegated proof, meaning sensitive personal information does not need to be sent to external servers, thereby reducing the risk of data exposure. ProveKit has been in development for approximately two years, supports the Noir programming language, and can run on standard consumer-grade hardware such as smartphones and browsers. It is designed to achieve 128-bit post-quantum security without requiring a trusted setup.
