[Iranian Foreign Ministry: Strongly Condemns U.S. Military Attacks on Iranian Civilian Infrastructure] Golden Finance reported that on September 3, local time September 2, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement strongly condemning the United States for launching military actions against Iran. The statement claimed that the U.S. attacked multiple non-military areas and civilian infrastructure such as docks and communication facilities in the provinces of Khuzestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Kerman, causing casualties and property damage. The statement noted that a U.S. military attack on a wedding venue in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, resulted in over 70 Iranian casualties, most of whom were women and children. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that these actions violate the fundamental principles of international law and international humanitarian law. The statement further emphasized that Iran's armed forces, exercising the right to self-defense as stipulated in the United Nations Charter, carried out "defensive and deterrent strikes" on U.S. military bases that served as the starting point and logistical support for the U.S. attacks on Iran. Iran also urged regional countries to prevent the U.S. from using their territories and airspace to conduct military operations against Iran. Additionally, it called on the United Nations Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to fulfill their responsibilities to prevent further escalation of the situation. (CCTV)
