[Kalshi Applies to Launch Forex and Interest Rate Perpetual Contracts]
BlockBeats News, September 2, Andy Ross, Head of Institutional Business at Kalshi, stated that Kalshi has submitted an application to regulators, planning to launch perpetual contracts based on forex and interest rates. The application was submitted on Monday and, as of Tuesday afternoon, had not yet appeared in the public filing system of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Previously, in May of this year, the CFTC approved Kalshi to launch Bitcoin perpetual contracts, followed by the introduction of ETH and XRP perpetual contracts. Kalshi has since continued to expand perpetual contracts beyond cryptocurrency assets. In July, it submitted applications for gold, silver, and platinum perpetual contracts, and on August 18, it submitted applications for U.S. large-cap stock index and copper perpetual contracts.
Ross stated that Kalshi aims to integrate multiple asset classes, including stocks, commodities, cryptocurrencies, fixed income, and interest rates, into a unified trading interface. Currently, the number of markets on the platform has increased from approximately 4,000 to around 10,000, with activity gradually spreading from a few popular markets to a broader range of markets.
