According to France 3, two suspects in France appeared in Draguignan Criminal Court on September 1 for allegedly defrauding a couple of approximately €1.5 million in crypto assets through a fake real estate transaction. The two are charged with organized fraud and inability to justify the source of their assets, both of which they deny. Reports indicate that the victimized couple had planned to sell a property near the Bay of Saint-Tropez for around €12 million. The suspects allegedly claimed they needed €1.5 million in crypto assets as proof of funds to facilitate the transaction. During a suspected meeting in Milan, they reportedly obtained the victims' account information and security keys, transferring the assets. The victims filed a police report the next day, and after about a year of investigation, French authorities arrested the two suspects on June 25. They also seized three properties owned by the suspects on the French Riviera, which lawyers estimate to be worth around €3 million. https://(wublock123.com)/news/france-couple-crypto-theft-1-5m-euro-real-estate-fraud-trial-67604
