[Solana Transaction Fees Hit All-Time High, Validator Inflation Reduction Rate Doubles]
According to The Block, the seven-day average fees on the Solana network denominated in SOL reached nearly 9,200 SOL on Thursday (August 27), marking an all-time high and an increase of over 80% compared to three months ago. The seven-day average of non-vote transactions reached 191 million, also a record high, compared to just 88 million during the same period last year. Jito validator fees averaged 2,073 SOL per day over the past week, a week-on-week increase of 26%, directly reflecting increased on-chain activity.
Meanwhile, the SGP-0002 "Dual Inflation Reduction Proposal" passed with a 67.001% approval rate and a 60.7% voter turnout, setting a new record for governance participation on the Solana chain. The proposal doubles the annual inflation reduction rate from 15% to 30%, which is expected to reduce SOL issuance by approximately 18.9 million over the next six years.
