Tom Lee: Multiple Catalysts in the Crypto Market, Large-Scale Institutional Entry Expected by Year-End
Foresight News|Aug 31, 2026 12:45
Foresight News reports that BitMine Chairman Tom Lee stated in the company's weekly report that there are multiple positive catalysts before the end of the year: the vote on the 'CLARITY Act' is expected to take place in mid-September; South Korean investors are repurchasing crypto assets and withdrawing from AI stocks; he believes the four-year crypto cycle will bottom out in the coming weeks. Combined with the dual drivers of tokenization and demand for AI Agents, large-scale institutional entry is anticipated in the final months of 2026.
Tom Lee also noted that ETH has been the best-performing macro asset globally in Q3 so far, outperforming the S&P 500 by over 5,430 basis points. The top three performing assets in Q3 are ETH, BTC, and SOL, respectively, which he believes will further drive institutions to increase their allocation to crypto assets. He pointed out that the ETH/BTC exchange rate tends to rise during crypto bull markets as Ethereum's relative usage increases, with the current driving forces being Wall Street's on-chain tokenization and the large-scale use of blockchain by AI Agents.
