[Singapore to Invest $173 Million in AI and Fintech Innovation Over the Next Three Years]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 31, Bloomberg reported that the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced it will invest S$220 million (approximately $173 million) over the next three years to support the development of fintech and innovation, aiming to maintain its competitive edge in the fintech sector compared to other financial hubs like Hong Kong.
The initiative will focus on nurturing fintech talent and accelerating the research, application, and implementation of cutting-edge fintech technologies. MAS plans to support at least 1,000 internship positions while encouraging the financial industry to prepare for the adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
MAS stated that the program is designed to further enhance the innovation capabilities and competitiveness of Singapore's financial sector.
