[U.S. State Department Adjusts Israel Travel Advisory, Allows Government Employee Family Members to Travel to Israel]
According to a report by Newsweek, as cited by Jinse Finance, the U.S. State Department updated its travel advisory for Israel on August 26, stating that family members of U.S. government employees are now permitted to travel to Israel. However, the State Department noted that due to regional instability, certain areas in Israel pose higher risks. The travel advisory specifies that U.S. government employees working in Israel are prohibited from traveling to the following areas: the region north of Highway 85 to the southern section of Highway 90 and along Highway 87; areas within 7 miles (approximately 11.3 kilometers) of the Gaza Strip; and areas within 1.5 miles (approximately 2.4 kilometers) of the Israel-Egypt border, except for the area near the Taba Border Crossing. U.S. government personnel must obtain approval from the U.S. Embassy in Israel's security office to conduct official duties in the aforementioned areas. (Jin10)
