[Apple's New CEO Finds Vision Pro Too Heavy and Expensive, Resources Shift to AI Glasses] Reported by Golden Finance, Apple will officially change leadership tomorrow. The incoming CEO, John Ternus, has consistently been less supportive of the Vision Pro. He believes the headset is too heavy and expensive, making it difficult to become a mainstream product. In contrast, he is more in favor of Apple continuing to develop lightweight smart glasses. This shift has already begun to take shape. Apple recently laid off a group of employees related to Vision Pro, covering not only gaming and immersive video but also device security, audio, Siri integration, testing, and operating systems. According to AppleInsider, at least 60 employees from the Vision project have been affected. Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned in June that Ternus personally approved significant adjustments to the roadmap for head-mounted devices. Originally, there were multiple Vision and glasses projects, but now the supply chain only sees two smart glasses projects remaining: one is AI glasses without a display, planned for release in 2027; the other includes a display and is expected to launch in 2029. However, Vision Pro has not been confirmed to be discontinued. Internally, Apple is still advancing the new version of Vision Pro, codenamed N224, which could launch as early as the end of 2028. Some are also persuading Ternus to continue investing in it.
