Feeling really frustrated. This FOMO product—I wrote a proposal for it last year and handed it to two teams for investment.
One team just messed around with their own ideas and created something nobody used. Investment went to zero.
The other team developed super slowly, barely made any progress, and returned part of the investment.
For a crypto project to succeed, you absolutely need people who truly understand the crypto space. Never let the CTO decide what to build—just let the CTO handle the tech.
What does it mean to truly understand?
If you're making tools for shitcoins, at the very least, you should be able to consistently make money off shitcoins yourself, right? If you can make billions, then you definitely get it.
If you're making tools for retail users, you should at least know what retail users like, what they FOMO over, right? And know how to drive traffic, right?
If you don’t know any of this, how can you just rely on past experience and random guesses?
The biggest trap isn’t having no experience—it’s relying on the same experience you’ve used for 20 years. That definitely won’t keep up in the crypto space.
Oh well, every pitfall will eventually become a lesson for redemption in the future.
