WuTalk has learned that Cosmos Labs released a review of the Cosmos EVM security incident, stating that between August 20 and 25, a total of 6 Cosmos EVM networks were exploited due to vulnerabilities. The attackers moved approximately $2.87 million worth of affected assets cross-chain and exchanged them on DEXs, while another $2.85 million was sold via centralized exchanges, totaling around $5.72 million. Related CEX accounts have been frozen pending investigation. The vulnerability affects Cosmos EVM versions below v0.6.2 or v0.7.2. Cosmos Labs also admitted that the vulnerability was previously reported through the bug bounty program but was mistakenly assessed as not posing a threat to production network users' funds.
