[Reached the 2/3 Approval Threshold, Solana 'Double Deflation' Proposal Voting Concludes]
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to the official website, the voting phase for the Solana 'Double Deflation' proposal has concluded. The voter participation rate was 60.69%, with 67% in favor, 25.16% against, and 7.84% abstaining. The approval rate reached the required 2/3 support threshold for passage. The proposal aims to reduce the SOL inflation rate to approximately half of its original level, effectively increasing the deflation rate to 30%. Based on current estimates, the proposal is expected to reduce SOL issuance by approximately 18.9 million tokens over the next six years.
The voting phase for the 'Resource and Inclusion Fees' proposal has also concluded, with a voter participation rate of 61.14%. Among the votes, 53.9% were in favor, 18.92% against, and 27.18% abstaining, failing to reach the required 2/3 support threshold for passage. This proposal sought to introduce a transaction fee mechanism based on resource consumption, charging fees according to the network resources utilized by transactions. It was estimated that this mechanism could increase the daily SOL burn rate from the current approximately 650 tokens to between 7,500 and 9,000 tokens.
