DWF Ventures published a research article stating that as trading fees and execution capabilities become increasingly commoditized, the core competitiveness of social trading platforms is shifting towards network effects, trader relationships, and unique information discovery layers. They believe that public trading insights, verifiable positions, and one-click copy trading can create a growth flywheel that mutually reinforces traders and users.
However, this could also lead to risks such as herd behavior, information asymmetry, and followers becoming 'exit liquidity.' The article cites Fomo data, which shows that out of approximately 292,000 wallets analyzed over the past three months, only 6.16% achieved realized profits. DWF Ventures thus concludes that while social trading may continue to grow, there is a significant gap between platform growth and user investment outcomes.
