[Irish Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking Organization, Seize and Freeze Approximately $900,000 in Crypto Assets]
Odaily Planet Daily News – On August 27, the Irish National Police (An Garda Síochána) reported that during a special operation targeting organized crime in the Galway region, officers searched two properties and froze two cryptocurrency accounts with a combined value of approximately $900,000. Additionally, police froze a bank account containing €25,000 (approximately $29,100) and seized €9,300 in cash as well as drugs with a total value of approximately €18,300 (including amphetamines and cannabis). A man in his 40s involved in the case has been arrested and charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
