[SK Hynix CEO: Memory Shortage Will Persist Until the End of 2030, HBM Demand Unlikely to Plummet Even in Downturn Cycles] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on August 28, SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung stated at a press conference, 'We expect the current market situation to continue until the end of 2030. At present, we do not see any clear signals indicating that the market will enter a downturn cycle.' Kwak Noh-Jung also pointed out that even if the memory market faces a downturn cycle in the future, the likelihood of a sharp decline, as seen in the past, is extremely low: 'In previous downturn cycles, the memory business was essentially 100% treated as a commodity, with manufacturers primarily competing through capacity expansion for homogeneous products. However, for HBM, customers and semiconductor manufacturers collaborate on chip development, requiring close cooperation to maximize performance. This makes market demand more predictable.'
