Did some research, and it turns out that 'everything on-chain' uses CAS20 (Compliant Asset Standard-20), a protocol-level token standard on the BNB Chain for issuing fungible tokens.
It defines a set of universal rules and functionalities, enabling tokens to be created, transferred, approved, and integrated consistently within the BNB Smart Chain ecosystem.
The concept of CAS20 is similar to ERC-20. It provides a standardized interface that allows wallets, exchanges, DeFi protocols, and other applications to seamlessly interact with compatible tokens. By establishing shared norms for token behavior and interoperability, CAS20 reduces integration complexity and provides the infrastructure for launching and utilizing fungible digital assets within the BNB Smart Chain ecosystem.
Each CAS20 token is created in the form of a stablecoin or asset. The choice is permanent and determines the functionalities you’ll have access to.
Alright, that’s it.
