Saylor: In 10 years, we’ll know who was wrong
When Strategy’s Bitcoin position once had an unrealized loss of over $10 billion, the market was full of doubts:
Did they buy at the top?
Was it crazy to bet company assets on BTC?
But now, with Bitcoin back above $75,000, Strategy’s BTC holdings have fully recovered all unrealized losses.
Current average holding cost: $75,385.
Saylor explained Strategy’s logic:
Swapping equity for Bitcoin—short-term price doesn’t matter.
Even if one day in the future, they use high-valuation stock to buy BTC at $1 million, and Bitcoin later drops to $200,000, it might look like they bought at the peak.
But the real question is: over the next 10 years, can Bitcoin’s returns outperform the company’s cost of capital and financing?
If the answer is yes, then today’s price is just a point on the timeline.
This is the biggest difference between Strategy and regular traders:
Others focus on today’s ups and downs, while Saylor is betting on a decade-long asset revaluation.
He said:
We are long-term thinkers, not short-term traders.
Looking at it now, this 10-year bet has only just begun.
