Family Offices in Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East Bet on Musk, SpaceX Holdings Reach $3.8 Billion

Deep Tide TechFlow reports: On August 17, according to Bloomberg, ultra-high-net-worth family offices from the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East are significantly increasing their investments in SpaceX. The total exposure has reached approximately $3.8 billion, indicating that private wealth institutions are competing for investment opportunities in the rocket, satellite, and artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk. Among them, the family office of Nick Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, holds a SpaceX investment position valued at approximately $1.8 billion.
As SpaceX garners market attention following its IPO, more family offices are leveraging private market investment channels to position themselves in the company. Since SpaceX remains a highly valued and scarce private tech asset, its equity opportunities have long been sought after by institutional investors and ultra-wealthy individuals. However, due to the limited liquidity of SpaceX's private equity transactions and its high valuation, large-scale bets by family offices also mean investors are taking on significant long-term valuation and exit risks.
