[Austrian Financial Market Authority fines Bitpanda €70,000, marking the first case under the MiCA framework] According to a report by (Bitcoin.com), the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) imposed a €70,000 fine (approximately $80,300) on cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda on August 14, making it the first legally binding penalty case under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) framework. The Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) stated that Bitpanda violated Article 8 of MiCA by failing to submit a crypto asset white paper at least 20 days prior to the token's listing for trading and by issuing marketing announcements without publishing the white paper.
