By the way, my prediction about Bitcoin was pretty accurate. Over the weekend, it continued to fluctuate around $63,000. Especially after looking at the 13F data, it’s clear that although the price of bitcoin:native wasn’t great in Q2, major institutional investors didn’t reduce their ETF holdings at all. On the contrary, some institutions even increased their positions. Combined with the overall ETF data, it’s evident that investors are very interested in the $60,000 range.
On Monday, my two dual-currency investments will both mature. Both were set to sell high at $65,000. Honestly, I regretted it as soon as I confirmed it on Friday—I should’ve chosen a lower price. My main concern was that Trump might stir things up over the weekend. So on Monday, I’ll probably adjust to $64,000 and see how it goes. For now, it seems unlikely that the U.S. and Iran will reach an agreement, so the Strait of Hormuz probably won’t reopen smoothly.
Also, next Monday is the last day of the temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. It doesn’t seem likely that this treaty will be renewed. Still, I think the chances of an all-out conflict are pretty low. The U.S. might engage in some localized skirmishes at most, and Iran will likely keep up its tough talk. For now, Iran and Oman have reached an agreement, and the new routes and plans for the Strait of Hormuz seem ready. The question is whether they can proceed without U.S. interference.
Although I think the chances are slim, there’s no better solution at the moment. If I were Trump, I’d definitely go all in. Sure, the U.S. can win militarily, but for a theocratic state, winning and instilling fear are two completely different concepts. Let’s see what Trump decides to do.
