Today, I randomly came across @dwr and ended up checking out Tempo. This might just be a ray of light in the future payments track. Ever since Farcaster was acquired by Neynar, the core team pretty much all left, and they clarified in April that they wouldn’t issue a token. Not just the founder Dan Romero, but almost the entire team left. The once-dominant leader of the social track has come to an end! They had a perfect hand—king bomb + four twos—but still managed to lose. Not only the leader Farcaster, but even the second-in-line, Lens, also insisted on not issuing a token, and in the end, couldn’t escape the fate of being acquired. The social track has always been called a false narrative. Let’s hope the next bull market brings a turnaround. Hopefully, the acquiring team can operate it well and make a comeback!
