In simple terms, as long as you grant permission, ChatGPT can continuously understand your activities on your Mac: Which apps you’ve opened, which websites you’ve visited, which pages you’ve switched to, what work you’ve just handled—and turn all of that into your personal “computer memory.” So in the future, you can directly ask: What was that AI article I read yesterday? Summarize everything I did today into a daily report. Continue the task I didn’t finish this morning. Which website did I just see that data on? ChatGPT no longer just remembers what you’ve said in the chatbox—it’s starting to remember what you’ve done on your computer. If this keeps developing, in the future, ChatGPT might feel more and more like a colleague who’s been working next to you for years: Knowing what software you use every day, where you’re at with your projects, what tasks you repeat often, and what you’re likely to do next.
