📈 Gate’s TradFi Volume Surges 55% WoW as Semis and Metals Take Over
@Gate TradFi trading volume jumped to $18.1B between August 3 - 10, up 55% from the previous week. The growth also came with a noticeable change in what traders were buying.
Semiconductors dominated equity activity. SanDisk generated about $5.6B in volume, followed by SK Hynix at $4.23B and SpaceX at $3.51B. Those three names made up most of the equity volume in that period, while CRCL and GOOGL were much smaller at roughly $146 million and $91 million.
The Korean-stock numbers are especially concentrated. SK Hynix accounted for about $4.2B in volume over the period, compared with just $62 million for Samsung Electronics. So while Korean equities are gaining traction on Gate, almost all of that increase came from SK Hynix, amid strong demand for AI and memory-chip exposure.
Trading is also spreading beyond equities. Metals rose to 27% of total volume, up from roughly 9% at the beginning of August. XAU and XAG were among the main contributors, alongside CL.
The picture is fairly clear: Gate’s TradFi volume is growing, and the asset mix is getting broader. Equities are still heavily concentrated, though. AI-linked stocks, memory-chip names and other high-beta trades continue to draw most of the activity.(Maartunn)
