Let’s talk about why Pumpfun is poaching people and analyze whether it will work. First, the reason for poaching: As asset issuance becomes increasingly easier, project leaders (车头) have become the most critical part of on-chain liquidity. The prosperity of a platform’s ecosystem is directly tied to the number and quality of these leaders. The liquidity networks and communities built by these leaders are highly sticky and exhibit network effects. Once a platform successfully establishes this network, it can significantly boost asset issuance and trading. Pumpfun is already in a dominant position for asset issuance on Solana. The biggest threat to Pumpfun likely won’t come from a similar launch platform but rather from a combination of a leader-driven network + asset issuance + trading ecosystem. So, FOMO has indeed made Pumpfun feel the pressure. Since Pumpfun is also building related infrastructure, it makes perfect sense for them to start signing top KOLs before FOMO’s network effects fully take shape. Now, will this strategy work? In the short term, it will likely have a noticeable impact. In the long term, there are still challenges to address: 1. Becoming a cross-chain asset issuance and trading platform is a key issue to tackle. FOMO’s current advantage lies in its ability to support cross-chain asset discovery and trading. 2. Developing better trading tools is another weak point for Pumpfun. That said, FOMO’s advantage here isn’t significant yet (they don’t even have order book functionality). In summary, poaching is a must-do—if they don’t act now, it’ll be too late. But they also need to address their shortcomings quickly. This battle is just beginning, and things are going to get exciting. There should be plenty of opportunities ahead. So, here’s the question: can someone teach me how to become a project leader? I want in too
