[South Korea Tightens Overseas Crypto Transfer Channels: Enhanced Verification of Identity and Fund Purpose]
BlockBeats News, August 13: Following the removal of overseas CEX apps like Bybit and OKX from South Korea's local Google Play store, the country is further tightening the process of transferring crypto assets to overseas platforms. According to the latest amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the 'Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information,' South Korean trading platforms will now determine whether to approve transfers based on the risk level of overseas platforms. When transferring to certain overseas trading platforms or personal wallets, users may be required to prove account ownership and specify the purpose of the transaction and the source of funds. If the information provided is insufficient, the transfer may be delayed or denied. Transactions exceeding 10 million KRW in a single instance will also be included in the exchange's self-established suspicious transaction monitoring system. The relevant regulations will take effect six months after their announcement. (News 1) [Original Link]
