[China's Largest Green Power Intelligent Computing Center Goes Live, One Kilowatt-hour Can Generate a 30-Second AI Video]
According to CCTV Finance, China has launched the world's largest single-unit intelligent computing center, the 'Ulanqab Galaxy Base,' located in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. Covering an area equivalent to about 20 football fields, the center boasts a power capacity of 160 megawatts, parallel processing capability of one million cards, and computational power scale of one million P. Approximately 80% of its electricity is directly supplied by green energy. The project utilizes self-built wind farms and dedicated power lines for direct supply, complemented by AI power systems and energy storage facilities, converting each kilowatt-hour of green electricity into tokens. Calculations show that this can generate nearly 30 seconds of AI-generated text-to-video content.
The base is driving upstream investments in wind power, photovoltaics, energy storage equipment, and liquid cooling systems, while promoting midstream advancements in AI power systems and virtual power plant technologies. It also supports downstream applications such as AI large model training, text-to-video generation, and AI code writing.
