The CPI data has been updated, and it's pretty much in line with market expectations. July's inflation performance was decent, showing a drop compared to June. It should've been a good set of data—at least Trump might have had more chances to brag about his supply-side policies and push the Fed to cut rates. But with the current trend in oil prices, this data feels somewhat irrelevant. What the market cares about more is when the war between the U.S. and Iran will end and when oil prices will drop. After all, the U.S. strategic oil reserves are running low, and there are less than three months left until the midterm elections. If there's a rate hike during the midterms, Trump is really going to be frustrated. @Gate Crypto, U.S. stocks, Hong Kong stocks, Korean stocks, gold, CFDs, prediction markets—all in one platform for trading!
