"Just finished carefully reading this interview by @Wuhuoqiu’s Lao Bai. The amount of information and knowledge is seriously overwhelming—my brain is buzzing after reading it. Let me try to distill a few key points that resonate: 1) Don’t dismiss the Crypto space just because a lot of projects have failed. DeFi, GameFi, NFT, prediction markets, etc.—yes, many projects have died, but there will always be survivors, and they’ll only get better. At its core, blockchain’s decentralized, permissionless, and censorship-resistant features—things most people don’t care about—are still built on the foundation of programmable finance for peer-to-peer value transfer. 2) The failure of the token issuance model has had a bigger impact on the Crypto industry than most people realize. For the majority, the “crypto world” has always been driven by the wealth effect supported by speculative dreams. Without new native assets being issued, and relying solely on existing assets from TradFi, the industry will lose its appeal to VCs, developers, and project teams on the building side. The retail consumer side alone simply can’t sustain it. 3) Crypto has already proven its value to traditional finance by introducing stablecoins and perpetual contracts. Whether it’s the political urgency of dollarized debt or the efficiency of innovative financial instruments like Perps, these are contributions from Crypto. But until stablecoins reach a trillion-dollar scale and Perps platforms achieve true institutional pricing for U.S. equities, it’s still too early to call it anything more than HYPE. 4) The Agentic Economy is bound to happen, and it will likely be the final form of the AI + Crypto narrative. However, building the infrastructure—Agent wallets, Agent trading, x402, Agent chains, etc.—will be a painful process.
