for everyone who was upset about this, this caution also applies to EthMag* and the ethR&D discord - though to lesser degrees because the incentives are less viral
*people are spinning up sockpuppet accounts which pass as reasonably human to argue against issuance changes (ofc this doesnt invalidate the same points made in good faith by others - just pointing out the pitfalls of broad gestures towards "community contention")
i think we seriously need to reevaluate what rough consensus[1] and dissent mean, their thresholds, when anyone can trivially multiply their voices with AI/scripts
1. the ethereum gov tradition is descended from the IETF, where they would literally hum in a room to make decisions. the world has changed a lot since then, least of all the fact that we don't govern from the same physical space https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7282(trent.eth)
