[South Korea's Virtual Asset Market Records More Days of Negative 'Kimchi Premium' Than Positive for the First Time]
According to Yonhap News, this year marks the first time that the number of days with a negative 'Kimchi Premium' in South Korea's virtual asset market has surpassed the number of days with a positive premium. Data from CryptoQuant shows that out of 221 days this year, Bitcoin recorded 123 days with a negative 'Kimchi Premium.' In early August, the average Bitcoin 'Kimchi Premium' was -0.48%, while Ethereum's average was -0.49%. From June 20 to July 24, there were 35 consecutive days of negative premium, setting a new historical record. The expansion of the negative 'Kimchi Premium' is attributed to factors such as the strengthening of South Korea's stock market attracting capital shifts, stricter regulations suppressing new capital inflows, and the impending implementation of cryptocurrency taxation policies.
