Let me add a few more thoughts: Inscriptions and runes were once super popular, but now they’ve cooled off a lot. The actual revenue they generate is pretty minimal—Professor Ke estimates it’s less than <1%. As the saying goes, people only take big risks for 50% profit. If it’s just for a measly less than 1%, miners should be able to stay neutral and make rational decisions. The bigger reason for the failure of BIP-110 is still the image of its proponents, like Luke. They come off as too extreme, which makes miners not want to align with them. PS: Luke couldn’t even step up himself and had to send a sidekick to represent him publicly. Just ask any mining pool operator, whether in China or the U.S.—would they want to team up with Luke? Of course not. That’s why this BIP was doomed to fail from the start.
