[Dongguan Exposes Another High-Yield Virtual Currency Scam, Police Urgently Intervene to Save Victim's 1.1 Million Yuan in Cash] According to the Dongguan WeChat public account, the Hengli Police in Dongguan successfully intercepted a virtual currency investment scam, saving 1.1 million yuan in cash just five minutes before the victim was set to conduct an offline transaction with the fraudsters, thereby preventing significant financial loss. It is reported that the victim, Ms. Li (alias), had previously met a stranger online. The individual used the lure of an 'internal virtual currency investment channel,' promising low thresholds and high returns, and fabricated profit screenshots to create the illusion of investment gains. Subsequently, the fraudster claimed that 'offline cash exchange for USD recharge' was required, coaxing Ms. Li into withdrawing 1.1 million yuan in cash for the transaction. Upon identifying the risk, Dongguan police promptly activated an early warning and interception mechanism, dispatched officers to the bank to intervene, and successfully prevented the transfer of funds before the transaction could take place.
