[Hackers Target Major Wall Street Hedge Funds in a New Wave of Cyberattacks]
According to Bloomberg, several major Wall Street hedge funds have recently been hit by a wave of sophisticated cyberattacks, with attackers attempting to infiltrate their internal information systems. Sources revealed that Point72 Asset Management informed investors on Wednesday that it had been attacked. Preliminary indications suggest that client information has not been stolen, though the company is still conducting further reviews. Millennium Management, Two Sigma Investments, Citadel, and several private equity firms have also been identified as targets of the attacks.
The attacks primarily employed voice phishing techniques, where cybercriminals used artificial intelligence technology to simulate others' voices, tricking employees via phone calls or messages into disclosing login credentials or granting system access.
