According to Bitcoincom, Luxembourg's 'Law No. 8722' was unanimously passed by parliament in July and will take effect on August 8. It authorizes the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) to issue cross-agency anti-fraud alerts to domestic cryptocurrency exchanges, banks, and payment institutions to assist in freezing suspicious accounts and related funds. This law stems from the 2024 incident where the charity Caritas was defrauded of over $70 million. That year, Luxembourg police recorded 6,382 fraud cases, and fraud reports submitted by financial professionals increased by 32% year-on-year to over 18,000 cases. https://(wublock123.com)/news/luxembourg-adds-crypto-exchanges-to-financial-intel-anti-fraud-alerts-65959
