[Three Arrows Capital Sues Founder Zhu Su's Wife to Recover $40 Million from Dubai Property Sale]
According to the Singapore Business Times, the liquidated crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital is suing the wife of its founder Zhu Su, Evelyn Tao, to recover approximately $40 million from the sale of a Dubai property. The property was purchased for 110 million dirhams (approximately $30 million), reportedly using funds from a $50 million cryptocurrency loan provided by Three Arrows Capital to Zhu. The transaction occurred three weeks before the fund entered liquidation in June 2022. While serving a contempt of court sentence in Changi Prison in October 2023, Zhu transferred ownership of the property to his wife. The liquidators argue that this move was intended to place the property and its sale proceeds beyond the reach of liquidators and creditors. Evelyn Tao claims she was unaware of the source of the funds, believed the property was a gift, and stated that the couple had separated in 2022, with a formal separation agreement signed in January 2024.
