[Bending Spoons Agrees to Acquire Airtable for $2.25 Billion, Valuation Shrinks by 80% from $11.7 Billion Peak] According to Bloomberg, Italian app developer Bending Spoons SpA has agreed to acquire U.S. software company Airtable for an equity value of $2.25 billion, with the transaction to be completed in an all-cash deal. After deducting approximately $965 million in net cash on Airtable's books, the enterprise value is approximately $1.29 billion. This price represents a significant 80% drop from Airtable's $11.7 billion valuation achieved in 2021, marking another example of valuation corrections in the software industry. Founded in 2013, Airtable provides tools that enable non-technical employees to build customized applications. At the end of 2021, Airtable raised $735 million at a valuation of $11.7 billion but failed to go public "within a few years" as planned.
